Ghana appoints Carlos Queiroz as Head Coach
Carlos Queiroz has been appointed as the new head coach of Ghana’s national team ahead of their upcoming World Cup campaign
The Black Stars recently parted ways with Otto Addo in late March following a series of disappointing results against Germany and Austria.
Ghana Football Association (GFA) confirmed the appointment of the 73-year-old Portuguese tactician, although the duration of his contract was not disclosed.
Queiroz is set to take charge at his fifth World Cup as a manager, having previously led Portugal in 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022, while also managing Iran across multiple editions.
In an official statement, the GFA Executive Board said: “The GFA Executive Board, together with all stakeholders, has appointed Carlos Queiroz as head coach of the national team.
“The former coach of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Portugal and Iran will lead Ghana in the World Cup.”
