The Defence Headquarters has sounded the alarm over a fake video allegedly showing the Chief of Defence Staff making political comments.

The Defence Headquarters has said a video circulating online showing the Chief of Defence Staff making political statements is completely fake.
The military said the video was created using artificial intelligence technology and was designed to trick people and damage the reputation of the armed forces.
The DHQ stressed that the Chief of Defence Staff did not make any of the statements attributed to him in the video and that the military remains neutral in politics.
The Armed Forces, it said, is committed to serving all Nigerians equally and defending the constitution, not supporting any political party.
The military condemned those who created the video and warned people spreading it to stop immediately.
It urged Nigerians to only trust information coming through official military channels and to ignore the fake video.
