The hotel where Houari checked into before going out to meet her date
A man from Morocco has been arrested after allegedly burying his date alive because he thought she was already dead.
The woman, 25-year-old Mina El Houari who lived in France, had been chatting online with the Moroccan man for several months and decided to finally meet after weeks of planning.
Houari had checked into a hotel on May 19, before meeting her date, little did she know it was going to be her last night alive.
Huffington Post reports:
At some point during their date, police say Houari, who was an undiagnosed diabetic, passed out and went into a diabetic coma, Morocco World News reported.
Thinking that Houari had inexplicably dropped dead, her date allegedly made the snap decision to bury her body in his backyard. Officials say she suffocated to death in the shallow grave.
Employees of the hotel where Houari was staying called police when she didn’t return.
Houari’s family filed a missing persons report after not hearing from her for some time, and authorities eventually traced her body to the man’s home. He allegedly confessed to the incident and was charged with involuntary manslaughter.
