Meriam Ibrahim Heads Back to Philadelphia after Refusing to denounce Christianity

Meriam Ibrahim, a woman who was placed on death row in Sudan for apostasy - marrying a Christian has left Rome for her husband, Daniel's hometown, Philadelphia for a fresh start in life.
After refusing to renounce her Christian faith, Meriam was placed in prison with her son. Also, she was in shackles in prison when she gave birth to her daughter, Maya.
After international outcry and intervention, Meriam was freed. She was able to flee to Rome, where the pope blessed her in his Santa Marta residence at the Vatican on July 24th. He praised her ‘courageous witness to faith.’

Escorted by armed police for security reasons, Meriam was provided new clothes and was able to live with her family for the first time since the ordeal in Rome for a week. Now, she's on our way to her
