Omotola Jalade Throws Support for Senator Melaye Over Photo of Baby with Tribal Marks
Earlier today, we reported that a photo which has already gone viral on social media, showed a young toddler who has just been met with cruelty of the highest order by his/her parents.
Nigeria Journalist, Aishat Alubankudi who posted the photo on Facebook, called on the members of the National Assembly to enact a law that would stop the tribal mark practice in Nigeria.
Just like we all expected, the viral photo got the attention of a lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye who took to his Instagram page and revealed that he will sponsor a bill to end the barbaric act.
"This barbaric act must stop. Support me to sponsor a bill to stop this outrageous wickedness. National identity card is enough," the senator wrote.
Adding to the issue, popular Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, also took to her Instagram page to throw her support to Senator Dino Melaye who promised to sponsor a bill at the upper legislative chamber in the federal capital, Abuja.
"I support a Bill against this practice. Like female mutilation, or child marriage, No permanent/life impairing decision should be taken on behalf of a child," she wrote on social media.
