Bobojay reports exclusively that Peace yesterday returned to Awka Kingdom after a marathon meeting on the road forward by the traditional ruler of Awka community, Eze Uzu (Dr) Gibson Nwosu, Town Union leadership , Awka council of Chiefs , Nze Na Ozo Awka and youths as well as Board of Trustees Awka.
At the meeting on Monday Awka monarch , Ezeuzu Gibson Nwosu warned dissidents and other residents to desist from activities that would spiral into bloodshed during today’s (Tuesday) Imo- Awka festival. He warned that such action would be visited with severe punishment on the offenders.
He thanked the community for standing by him despite the tension been championed in some quarters against his leadership but insisted that with their support he is good to administer the community positively.
Odogwublog.com reported that some aggrieved Awka council of Chiefs reportedly dethroned him but the town leadership led by Engr Okechukwu Tony said it was a wishful thinking of those championing the cause as Awka has no other monarch but Ezeuzu.

 Ezeuzu said: “Please don’t cause trouble during Imo-Awka festival tomorrow being Tuesday that’s today. We will not condone any form of violence, killing or mayhem whatsoever” he said.
The President-General, Engr. Tony Okechukwu, said that the community was totally in support of Dr Nwosu, noting that Ozo Awka has no powers to dethrone him. He added that the oldest man of the community remained Ichie Anagor Ekeh until the community states otherwise.
“You all are aware that no Izu Awka was convoked on Sunday 30th April, 2017 as none was approved by the President-General, Tony Okechukwu and Eze Uzu Awka, Obi (Dr) Gibson Nwosu. The purported Izu Awka was never held at Umuoramma Village Square, the abode of Ichie Anagor Ekeh, the current Otochalu Awka. And you should therefore not be worried by the antics of these impostors whose main ambition is to cause confusion for their selfish ends” he said.
Contributing, Ozo Chukwudi Muodozie warned that the community would not take it lightly with anyone who destabilizes the peace of the community. He therefore warned the youths to steer clear from the raging leadership tussle or face the consequences.

The community in its 8 point resolution and communique after the event insisted that there is no regent in Awka; that Awka has endorsed Governor Willie Obiano for a second term in office; Awka administration is solely the business of the traditional ruler , Obi Gibson Nwosu and his cabinet and the Awka Town Union Leadership led by Engr Tony Okechukwu and his Executive; that Obi Gibson Nwosu remained the traditional ruler of Awka and nobody else; that burial in the community remained in accordance to the wish and religious group or faith or the deceased and nobody else should interfere; that Obiano's government released M3.8 Million to Awka community for a civic center but the President General has done work more than that amount behind Awka city stadium; that Ichie Anagor Ekeh remained the oldest man in Awka aka 'Otuchalu Awka'' until a new one is crowned.

 Prof Au Nnonyelu said anybody parading himself as PG or Traditional ruler other than Obi Gibson Nwosu and Engr Tony Okechukwu is a clown , while Chief Chukwudi Moudozie informed the youths to reject being used as thugs and warned that anybody being used to insult titled men in Awka by anybody including Uzu-Awka will suffer even as Ozo Nehemiah Obuorah informed that the crisis brewing about Awka town union and traditional leadership is the 3rd time and may not be a good omen for Awka hence there is need to nip it in the bud. 

The traditional Prime Minister of Awka Chief Benjamin Okoye asked those championing crisis to empower Awka youths , villages and communities to be qualified to be called stakeholders rather than igniting crisis aimed at tarnishing the image of Awka at every slightest opportunity.
