Rivers State APC Stakeholders Endorse Magnus Abe for Governor

In a communiqué issued at the end of a stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt, the stakeholders of All Progressives Congress (APC), in Rivers State, on Thursday, endorsed Senator Magnus Abe, as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2019 election in the state.
According to Daily Sun, the communiqué endorsing Abe’s candidature was jointly signed by Chidi Wihioka, Felix Nwaeke, Augustine Wokocha, Maurice Pronen, Marcus Nle Ejii and Ipalibo Harry.
Consequently, the stakeholders, therefore, called on the senator representing Rivers South East in the National Assembly to offer himself for the party’s governorship primary.
Some other leaders of the party at the gathering were Senator Wilson Ake, former Commissioners under former Governor Amaechi, Mr Ipalibo Harry, Felix Nwaeke, Marcus Ejii, Allwel Onyeso and former Chief of Staff to former Governor Amaechi, Chief Tony Okocha.
The communiqué said that the party will encourage a level playing field for all members to express their ambitions, emphasising that the party was set to dislodge the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2019.
“The meeting called on Abe to present himself for the 2019 governorship election under our party, the APC, as he clearly has the support and approval of a vast majority of members,” the communiqué said.
