Tinubu Has Mandated Me To Deliver Anambra To APC, That I Must Do – Ukachukwu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the November 8, 2025, Anambra State election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, has expressed confidence in his bid for the state’s top office, citing assurance from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to Ukachukwu, the President tasked him with delivering Anambra State to the APC during a meeting, saying, “Go and bring Anambra to join the national government in Abuja,” which he intends to fulfill.
Speaking at the Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri, where he presented Senator Uche Ekwunife as his running mate, Ukachukwu addressed APC stakeholders and reiterated his commitment to aligning Anambra State with the federal government.
He challenged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to a popularity test, claiming that Soludo’s 2021 election victory was facilitated by former Governor Willie Obiano.
Ukachukwu described Anambra State as being “in darkness” and asserted that his mission is to bring progress and development to the state.
He called on party stakeholders to unite and work collectively for the APC’s success in the upcoming election, vowing to reward their support if elected.
“I urge all of you to go home and mobilize. Let’s work together in unity. If we win, I won’t appoint only myself or hoard power.
“I make this vow: I will not neglect or disappoint you. We must liberate Anambra so that everyone can live in peace and prosperity.”
The APC candidate dismissed claims by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) that President Tinubu is secretly supporting Governor Soludo, labeling it “a ridiculous insinuation.”
He confidently declared that the APC would take over Anambra in the November 8 election, adding that the state is “overripe” for political change.
During the event, Ukachukwu formally presented Senator Ekwunife as his running mate and handed her the APC flag, describing her as a seasoned politician with extensive experience in Anambra politics.
Ekwunife reaffirmed their joint commitment to victory, stating, “We are in this race to win, and we will pursue every legal avenue to ensure Anambra State is aligned with the federal government in Abuja.”
APC State Chairman Chief Basil Ejidike reinforced Ukachukwu’s assertion, stating that the presidency has no alliance with APGA or Governor Soludo.
“Let no one be deceived; there is no partnership between the presidency and APGA. We are moving into Government House, Awka. Prince Ukachukwu is the right candidate to unseat the APGA administration.”
