Boma also expressed gratitude for the remarkable growth of Nollywood, commending the resilience of those in the industry.

Boma Akpore, the Nigerian actor and former Big Brother Naija housemate has revealed that he launched a podcast to take control of how his story is told.
In a chat with Sunday Scoop, the actor explained, “I started my podcasts because the media is strong; they determine the narrative. So I want to be able to control my narrative. Sometimes people just throw someone under the bus and narrate things however they want. I want to control the narrative.”
Boma also expressed gratitude for the remarkable growth of Nollywood, commending the resilience of those in the industry.
“I am grateful for the growth of Nollywood. I am grateful for the stories. We are very resilient; no matter what has been done to pull us down, we refuse to go under. We are always fighting to stay afloat.”
Speaking on his evolution in the entertainment industry beyond reality TV fame, he noted: “I am grateful for how I have been able to reinvent myself. I have two podcasts: Unbox Review Show and Unbox Review Show Special. My fans should keep supporting and believing in me.”
Reflecting on his experience with the media, he added, “I have learnt that not everything in the media is true, and not everything true is in the media.”
