Blord detention: VDM also impersonated the Police – Sowore
Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore has pledged to fight for the release of entrepreneur Blord, criticizing what he called the unjust nature of his detention.
Blord, whose real name is Linus Williams, has been held at the Kuje prison following charges related to a dispute with social media activist VeryDarkMan.
During a public interview, Sowore described the accusations against Blord as baseless, particularly the claim of copyright infringement over the term “Rattel.”
He explained that copyright and company registration are entirely separate legal matters, making the charges frivolous.
“How can you charge someone and threaten them with prison for copyright of something that isn’t even properly registered?” he said.
Sowore recounted previous interventions, including instances where Blord was released from police custody after authorities were called, highlighting that the ongoing detention is unnecessary.
He also noted that similar past cases involving creative expression, including impersonation of law enforcement, were treated lightly, underscoring the disproportionate nature of Blord’s current situation.
The activist affirmed his commitment to advocating for Blord’s freedom, emphasizing that the justice system should protect citizens rather than punish them unfairly.
