Nigerian actress Damilola Adegbite has explained why she has chosen not to remarry yet following the end of her first marriage.
Adegbite said her decision is largely influenced by her responsibilities as a mother.
According to her, entering a new relationship as a single parent requires a different approach compared to being single without children.
She stated, “If you are a single mother or you are having to raise your child on your own and you are looking to remarry, your decision-making has to be different from when you were single. You are not just choosing a partner for yourself; you are choosing a second parent for your child.”
The actress emphasized that any future partner must be evaluated not only for personal compatibility but also for their ability to take on a parental role. Her comments connotes the practical and emotional considerations single parents face when thinking about remarriage.
