A Nigerian singer has stirred conversation online after sharing his thoughts on dating and financial responsibility during outings.
Nigerian singer Magixx has sparked online debate after expressing his views on dating expenses during a recent interview on Cool FM.
The singer stated that financially comfortable men should take responsibility for paying when they go out with a woman, regardless of who extended the invitation.
In his view, if a man is well-off and takes a woman out, he should naturally cover the bill particularly since he initiated the outing.
He went a step further, arguing that even when a woman does the inviting, a man who can afford it should still be willing to pick up the tab.
He backed this up with a personal example, noting that he has on several occasions paid for drinks at clubs even when he was the one who had been invited.
However, when the interviewer pressed him on whether he would hold the same view if he were not as financially successful as he is today, Magixx was candid enough to admit that his position might be different, laughing as he acknowledged the uncertainty.
