In an official statement released through his lawyer, Tope Salami, Dakolo denied owing the promoter any money and insisted that the allegations were contrary to the agreement both parties signed before the tour was planned.

According to the statement, Revolve Entertainment, as the promoter, had agreed to take responsibility for securing venues, providing sound, lighting and technical production, as well as covering visa costs, flights, accommodation and transportation.

“Our Client unequivocally denies these allegations,” the statement read.

It further explained that the agreement made those expenses non-recoupable and stated that only approved advertising and promotional costs could be recovered.

Dakolo’s legal team also said the UK tour never held because the promoter failed to meet key production requirements, particularly regarding sound, lighting and technical production.

“Accordingly, Our Client bears no contractual or legal responsibility for expenses which the Promoter voluntarily incurred, particularly where such expenses were expressly allocated to the Promoter under the Agreement or were incurred without the approvals required by the Agreement,” the statement added.

The singer’s lawyers also accused Baddest DJ Timmy and Revolve Entertainment of making false and defamatory statements, violating Dakolo’s privacy, and engaging in harassment and intimidation through social media publications.

As part of the demands, Dakolo asked the promoter to immediately stop making defamatory statements, remove all offending posts, publish a public retraction and issue a written apology within seven days.

He warned that if the demands are ignored, he would pursue all legal remedies available in both Nigeria and the United Kingdom to protect his reputation and privacy.
