Be content creators not consumers – Veronica’s Daughter tells Ndi Anambra

Social media influencer Dr. Ella Ezeadilieje has charged the Anambra business community and residents to make effective use of social media platforms to enhance the visibility and productivity of their businesses.

Ezeadilieje, popularly known as Veronica’s Daughter, gave the advice in Awka at a Business, Balance and Beyond (B³) Summit, a free empowerment programme for entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals.

She described many residents of the State as more of consumers of social media content than content creators, urging them to leverage social media to showcase their products and services for wider markets and improved productivity.

Expressing surprise at the population that graced the event, the convener said she was reluctant in choosing Anambra as the location for the event in view of her impression of the people of the state.

She said, “Maybe I underestimated not just myself but my people. We tried hosting this event in Anambra last year. But we were discouraged that people wouldn’t come.

“But we decided to go ahead this year because of the number of people that attended the Port Harcourt edition from Anambra.

“Apart from the think home philosophy, we chose Anambra because we saw the need to change the social media orientation of our people.

“I call myself an accidental influencer because social media changed my life. I was sharing my experience, without knowing that it was the beginning of something bigger than myself.

“When I look at the southeast, especially our vendors and companies, I realize we’re yet to discover and utilize social media; we’re yet to discover that we’re not digitally visible online.

“We’re mostly consumers rather than those whose content is being consumed. Most of the products I see in Onitsha markets, if only they’re online, they’ll make billionaires.

“Another reason for choosing Anambra is that we lack balance. We’re only interested in making money. Our definition of wealth is different from the reality. Wealth is not just the money in our pocket.

“As important as wealth is, there’s a sickness you’ll suffer and you’ll appreciate health is also important. Same with relationships, community, life of purpose, new skills, access to funding, digital tools, among others.

According to Ezeadilieje, the summit focuses on wealth creation, financial strategies, as well as maintaining personal health and well-being alongside business growth.

“The summit is an opportunity to gain practical knowledge on business growth, financial management, healthy living and effective use of social media for personal and professional development,” she added.

In her presentation, Dr. Kelechi Okoro emphasized the importance of prioritizing health alongside wealth creation.

She advised participants to eat healthy meals, engage in regular physical exercise and undergo routine medical checks to maintain good health.

The panel session, which featured Chief Joseph Ezeadilieje, husband of the convener; Professor Olusegun Sogbesan of Onitsha Business School; and Mr. Kelvin Onovo of the Finished Men Association, focused on “What It Takes to Build Powerful and Sustainable Relationships and Businesses.”

The panellists noted that it is possible to achieve a healthy and wealthy life, both privately and publicly, with the right support system and positive relationships.

The summit, which also featured free medical services, including eye examinations, HIV screening and breast cancer screening, attracted dignitaries including Managing Director, Anambra Broadcasting Service, Mr. Chris Molokwu; Ms. Nkiruka Okonkwo of Union Bank; Engr Ndubisi Chidomere of PAMTECH Group; several actors, among others.
