Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has taken a swipe at Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke ahead of the August 15 governorship election, criticising his leadership style during an APC campaign rally in Osun State.

Addressing APC supporters alongside the party’s governorship candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, Okpebholo repeatedly mocked Adeleke’s love for dancing, claiming the governor prioritises entertainment over governance.
He urged Osun residents to vote for the APC candidate, promising that Oyebamiji would deliver infrastructure and development across the state.
Okpebholo also encouraged voters to collect any money allegedly offered during campaigns but vote according to their conscience.
Drawing a comparison with the 2024 Edo governorship election, the governor referenced the defeat of his predecessor, saying Adeleke’s political ally should face a similar outcome in Osun.

Part of his remarks read:
“Before somebody signs paper, he will dance. Are you not tired? For four years, this man has been dancing. Before he takes breakfast. Before he drinks tea, he will dance.
“If they bring money, chop that money from them, but don’t vote for them… That man is Obasaki’s friend. You know we kicked Obasaki out of Edo too? So we have to kick his friend out of this place too.
“A government that is not working, the best gift for him is to send him out of that state… Are you not tired of dancing, dancing, dancing, governor?
“The man that will give you a good road is Oyebamiji. Are we ready to make a change? Are we ready to say bye-bye to dancing?”
