Yahya Jammeh Of Gambia Speaks With Liberian President on Phone, Pleads on His Case
President Yahaya Jammeh of the Gambia has begged Liberian President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf who is the chairperson of Economic Community of West African States to allow judges from other countries come to The Gambia and hear his case against the election results he rejected.
The Supreme Court in Gambia couldn't hear the case filed in court by Jammeh because judges in the country could not sit following the political tormoil. He pleaded with President Sirleaf to help him facilitate the process according to the constitution, as he said it is the constitution that would determine whether he will step down or not.
President-elect, Adama Barrow has insisted that Jammeh listen to the voice of wisdom and step down after losing the Presidential election in December.
