14 year old girl 'marries Muslim man 20 years her senior' in front her mother

Footage showing the moment a 14-year-old girl allegedly being forced to marry a man 20 years her senior - in a backstreet mosque in front of her mother - has been played to a court in Australia.

The video appears to show a teenage girl present as the Imam presents papers to her soon-to-be husband at a traditional Islamic ceremony last year..

Imam Ibrahim Omerdic, 62, now faces charges of forcing a minor to enter marriage .

The Imam asks the child bride if she takes the man “to live together and live according to Islam ”.

According to reports, the couple only met for the first time a few days before the ceremony.

"If (your husband) is happy with something, do it. If (your husband) is not happy with something, don't do it," he allegedly told the girl during the September 29 ceremony.

She's very young," he then told the child's mother.

Once the young girl answers “yes” she is told she now has a duty to “obey” her husband.
