No fewer than four members of the Community Watch Corps (CWC) were brutally killed in an ambush by suspected bandits in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. Their commander, identified as Sunusi, was set ablaze along with their patrol vehicle.
The tragic incident occurred on Saturday afternoon as the operatives, who were attached to Radda and Charanchi LGAs, were reportedly on duty in the volatile region when they were intercepted by the armed assailants.
This was disclosed in a post by security analyst, Bakatsine on his official X handle on Saturday night.
“This afternoon, bandits ambushed CWC operatives in Matazu LGA, killing four brave officers and burning their commander, Sunusi, alive along with their vehicle. These operatives served in Radda, Charanchi LGA, Katsina State,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of the time of filing this report, authorities in Katsina State are yet to officially comment on the attack.
