The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu's Special Counsel, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, has announced a halt to press briefings concerning the core details of Kanu’s ongoing trial.
Ejimakor announced the decision of the legal team on Friday via a brief statement shared on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account.
“A decision has been made by the Legal Team of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu that, from now onwards, there will be no further press briefings on the “facts” of the case, except on peripheral facts that are not subjudice,” Ejimakor said.
He further revealed that the court had been formally informed of the new decision.
“This decision was also conveyed to the Judge today in open court,” he added.
