Community Seeks Refund Following Unmet Security Pact with Soludo’s Aide

Mbosi, a community in Ihiala LGA of Anambra State, burdened by the ongoing security challenge in Anambra State, has demanded that Governor Soludo’s Special Adviser on Security, Hon. Ken Emeakayi, fulfill his side of their bargain or refund the sum of N250 million raised by the community stakeholders and handed to him for security purposes.

In a letter by the traditional ruler of Mbosi community, His Royal Highness, Igwe Dr. Greg Nwokora, which was addressed to Soludo’s security Adviser, Emeakayi, Igwe Nwokora conveyed the community’s confidence in Emeakayi, which prompted them to raise the sum of N250 million, which was given to him to help the community with the procurement of gadgets needed to fight the insecurity in their community.

According to the letter, it has been over six months and nothing has been heard from Emeakayi. The letter further expressed the desire of the Mbosi community to have the large sum of money returned to them or have the gadgets supplied as earlier agreed. The letter further noted that the security situation in Mbosi has become dire.

“Dear Ken…, it has been over six months since you had an arrangement and understanding with Mbosi Stakeholders, which, based on the promise you made to them, resulted in their raising and handing over to you a huge amount of money geared towards Mbosi security. They gave you that huge amount of money in excess of N250 million because they trusted and believed you as a man of your word.

The situation in Mbosi now is so dire and desperate that I have to make this personal appeal to you on behalf of the entire good people of Mbosi,” Igwe Nwokora said in his letter. The letter also, in clear terms, demanded the refund of the money if the gadgets had not been purchased as agreed. “Please, Ken, if you have purchased those materials, make them available to Mbosi through the PG, Hon. Azuka Okoli, or through any other Mbosi person of your choice. Alternatively, if you have not purchased the materials, immediately return the money to Mbosi without any further delay,” the letter reads.

Beyond highlighting a potential business angle to the insecurity in Anambra State, the letter underscores the fact that the security situation in the state remains dire.

So far, neither Soludo’s government nor Ken Emeakayi, his Special Adviser on Security, has responded to the letter that is now beginning to circulate on social media.
