According to a post on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X, the attack occurred on Friday, July 11, at about 3:30 p.m. while members of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, were holding a meeting.

No fewer than five people were killed and three others injured when armed bandits launched an attack on worshippers during a church gathering in Kampani village, Maro, located in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to a post on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X, the attack occurred on Friday, July 11, at about 3:30 p.m. while members of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, were holding a meeting.
Citing police sources, Makama reported that a distress call was made around 9:20 p.m., prompting the deployment of a joint team of police and other security operatives to the area.
Five worshippers, Victor Haruna, Dogara Jatau, Luka Yari, Jesse Dalami, and Bawu John, were confirmed dead after being rushed to the hospital.
Three others, Samuel Aliyu, Philip Dominic, and Jacob Hussaini, sustained gunshot wounds and are currently receiving treatment.
Security agencies say efforts are underway to track and apprehend the assailants.
