Anambra Police Plans Security Summit Across Three Senatorial Districts
The Anambra State Police Command has announced plans to host a comprehensive security summit across the state’s three senatorial districts, aimed at addressing security challenges and fostering stronger collaboration between law enforcement and communities.
The initiative, approved by the Inspector General of Police, will culminate in a grand finale at a central venue where Ndi Anambra will gather to deliberate on issues of common concern and propose actionable solutions.
According to the Command, the summit will serve as an inclusive platform for dialogue, peacebuilding, and the strengthening of trust between the Police and local communities.
In preparation, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness Igwe Chidubem Iweka, Eze Obosi. During the visit, Orutugu sought the collaboration of traditional institutions in promoting community security and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that traditional rulers remain vital partners in the state’s security architecture, particularly in intelligence gathering, conflict mediation, and mobilizing grassroots support for crime prevention initiatives.
