Tambuwal insisted that the allegation of ₦189 billion against him was baseless, noting that even past investigations by the Sokoto State government found nothing against him.

Former Sokoto State Governor and current Senator for Sokoto South, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has stated that no one can erase the legacy of service he has established throughout his political career.

Speaking at his residence in Sokoto after a large crowd of supporters welcomed him back to the state, Tambuwal dismissed his recent questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) as an attempt to intimidate him into joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“What they failed to realize is that I cannot be intimidated, I cannot be blackmailed, and no one can tarnish my records that God has given me,” he said.

“From my time in the House of Representatives in 2003 as Minority Leader, to Deputy Chief Whip in 2007, to Speaker in 2011, and then as governor of Sokoto for eight years, and now a Senator, I have served my people and Nigeria well.”

Tambuwal insisted that the allegation of ₦189 billion against him was baseless, noting that even past investigations by the Sokoto State government found nothing against him.

He also declared that Nigerians are ready to reject the APC in the 2027 general elections.

“We are determined. We are committed to democratic efforts, and we will join forces with all Nigerians to make sure that, by the grace of God, in 2027 we end this misrule and misgovernance in our country,” he said.

He accused the ruling party of running policies that harm ordinary people and of creating insecurity across the country.

“Their policies are anti-people. They have no compassion, they have no human feelings,” Tambuwal added.

The Senator assured his supporters that the opposition remains resolute.

“We will not allow any election to be rigged again. By 2027, Nigerians will make their voices heard, and with God on our side, we are headed for victory.”
