Archbishop Nzekwesi Invested as Supreme Patron of Anambra Youths as NYCN Inaugurates 21 LG Executives

 In a significant milestone for youth development in Anambra State, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Anambra State Chapter, under the leadership of Amb. Surv. Emeka Obi, has officially invested Archbishop Dr. Onyekachukwu Joseph Nzekwesi, CEO of Pineleaf Estate and Properties Ltd, as the Supreme Patron of Anambra Youths.



The prestigious investiture ceremony took place yesterday at Apple Valley, Awka, and was held in tandem with the inauguration of newly elected NYCN coordinators from the 21 local government areas of the state.


In his opening remarks, NYCN State Chairman, Chartered Surveyor Emeka Obi, spoke passionately on the theme:

“Youths: Voice for Revaluation of Leadership and Good Governance – The Journey So Far,” and emphasized the vital role of strong, visionary leadership in shaping the future of Anambra’s youth and the state at large.



Surv. Obi stated that the Council’s decision to honor Archbishop Nzekwesi was deliberate and well-deserved, citing his unwavering commitment to leadership, integrity, and community service through his corporate ventures and philanthropic efforts, the Archbishop has consistently demonstrated values aligned with youth empowerment.


“Archbishop Nzekwesi embodies the inspiration and leadership our youths need, especially as we approach a crucial gubernatorial election. His influence will greatly strengthen our mission across the state,” Obi affirmed.


Responding to his investiture, Archbishop Nzekwesi expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Council for the recognition and pledged full support to NYCN. He vowed to leverage his resources, platforms, and network to boost the Council’s outreach and impact.


In a rousing address to the youth, the Archbishop urged them to remain disciplined, purpose-driven, and politically active, particularly in the build-up to the 2025 gubernatorial elections, emphasizing the power of young people in driving positive change and warned against involvement in cultism, crime, and other social vices.



As part of his commitment, he donated two shuttle buses to the Council and pledged ongoing support for youth-driven initiatives across the state.


The event also witnessed goodwill messages from notable personalities, including the former NYCN State Chairman, Comrade Frank Maduke who lauded the current leadership for their innovation and encouraged transparency and accountability among the new executives.


Also Chief Obunikem Asuzu, the pioneer Chairman of the Council, emphasized the importance of legacy-building and called for unity and collaboration across all levels of youth leadership.


Award presentations to notable dignitaries, including Rt. Capt. Casmir Nwafor, Mayor of Orumba North LGA, issuance of Certificates of Return to newly inaugurated LG coordinators; special parade and inspection of guards by the Supreme Patron and State Chairman climaxed the event


Other distinguished attendees and state youth leaders, includes; Chairman, 2025 Election Committee, Comrade IKC Onuorah; State Commandant, Commissioner, Girls’ Guild of Nigeria, Comrade Alakwe Chinasa; State Commandant, Royal Rangers; Col. Philip Edema; State Commandant, Man O’ War, MC A.S. Egbo-Egbo amongst others.
