Following approval by the Anambra State Executive Council, the Anambra State Ministry of Youth Development and Sports has announced that free and transparent online registration for the third batch of 1Youth, 2Skills Initiative by prospective trainees will commence on Tuesday, 10th November, 2026.
Announcing details of eligibility criteria and application modalities, the Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Mr. Patrick Agha Mba, said the exercise will commence at the end of the ongoing master trainers’ recruitment process and revalidation of existing ones.
He explained that the training programme is open to people with special needs and indeed all citizens and residents of the state, while skill areas to be trained in were selected based on survey findings, market demands, emerging opportunities and comparative advantages of the skills.
To ensure that both trainers and trainees remain committed to the objective of the programme, the Youth Development Commissioner said that there will be effective monitoring through digital platforms and unscheduled visits.
He noted that in the two batches of the empowerment programme already completed, over 13,000 youths were trained, empowered and mentored in various skill areas, saying that the new phase is an opportunity to consolidate on achievements made, address identified gaps and expand programs for more impact across the state.
He said that the ANSEC approval of the latest phase of the empowerment programme demonstrates high level of intentionality and commitment to youth development, adding that the programme aligns perfectly with the vision 2070 framework of the Governor Chukwuma Soludo administration, and is also consistent with Solution 2.0 Agenda which focuses on increased momentum, expanded opportunities and greater impact.
