The Igbo Elders Forum has urged Governor Alex Otti to collaborate with other South East governors to facilitate the release of IPOB founder, Nnamdi Kanu.

The group which arrived the Abia State Government House, Umuahia, Wednesday morning, cautioned that the deteriorating health of Nnamdi Kanu should not be ignored.

The Spokesperson of the group, Emeka Ezebuiro and other members of the group who addressed the press in front of Abia Government House Umuahia, said they embarked on a peaceful journey to submit their appeals to Governor Alex Otti.

The group expressed surprise that Nnamdi Kanu has not been released or allowed access to adequate medical care, at the same time negotiations are going on with armed bandits in the North.

“We came to register our annoyance and our feelings. Our son is still in detention and is very sick yet they are denying him access to medical care.

”Why are they negotiating with armed robbers and bandits but still holding him,?” Ezebuiro frowned.

The Spokesperson said that Igbo Elders Forum will take their messages to other South East Governors, stressing that a united front by the Governors can help in securing Kanu’s freedom.

Also, Igbo Think Tank North America, in a demand letter it wrote to Igbo Governors and Igbo political leaders, alleged a silent genocide against the Igbo youths.

The group, which spoke through its President, Dunkwu Agbambu, called on Igbo leaders to protect Igbo land and the youths from killings, invasion, destruction and other forms of attacks.
