This comes as the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday arrested Sowore over a protest on Monday, to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.

The Take It Back Movement has threatened nationwide mass protests against President Bola Tinubu’s administration while demanding the release of the former African Democratic Party’s presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore.
The group disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday, signed by its coordinator, Sanyaolu Juwon.
This comes as the Nigeria Police Force on Wednesday arrested Sowore over a protest on Monday, to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra.
Explaining the reason for Sowore’s arrest, police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin said he was arrested because he led the protest to restricted areas as proscribed by court order.
Reacting, the Take It Back Movement warned that if Sowore is not released immediately, the group would mobilise Nigerians to a mass protest.
“We wish to categorically warn that any form of detention, harassment, or intimidation of Sowore by the NPF or any arm of the Tinubu regime will be met with an immediate, nationwide mass action.
“Let it be clearly known: if Sowore is not released immediately and unconditionally, the Take It Back Movement, alongside progressive organisations across the country, will mobilise citizens for sustained protests and civil disobedience actions until he regains his freedom”, group stated.
