According to reports, the lecturer fell off a commercial motorcycle after being hit by a moving truck along the highway at Crusher and was thereafter crushed to de@th.
A lecturer in the Department of Theatre Arts at the Federal University Lokoja, Kemi Emmanuel, tragically lost her life on Wednesday, October 22, after an articulated vehicle ran over her along the Crusher-Felele axis of the Lokoja-Abuja Expressway.
According to reports, the lecturer fell off a commercial motorcycle after being hit by a moving truck along the highway at Crusher and was thereafter crushed to de@th.
Confirming the sad incident, the sector commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kogi, Tenimu Etuku, said the accident occurred around 3:30pm. on Wednesday, when the lecturer fell off a commercial motorcycle after being hit by a moving truck along the highway at Crusher in Lokoja metropolis.
“When the accident happened, our rescue operation team responded promptly and quickly rushed the victim to Kogi State Specialist Hospital, where she was confirmed de@d. The corpse of the deceased has been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary,” he said
He expressed shock over the attitude of the said okada rider, who reportedly zoomed off under the guise of chasing the hit-and-run truck.
The Sector Commander cautioned okada riders against competing with enclosed vehicles on the highway to avoid such unfortunate incidents and to save the lives of innocent passengers.
