According to the statement, Omengor was arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State, presided over by Justice F.A. Olubanjo, in October 2021.

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has secured a seven-year conviction against a 26-year-old woman, Chinonso Omengor, who specialized in trafficking individuals for prostitution and arranging foreign trips that facilitate the act.
The agency disclosed this in a statement on Monday, November 17, 2025.
According to the statement, Omengor was arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State, presided over by Justice F.A. Olubanjo, in October 2021.
The defendant was subsequently sentenced on November 13 to seven years’ imprisonment on each count with a fine of N10m.
She was also ordered to pay the sum of N1m as compensation to the victim.
“A Federal High Court sitting in Asaba, Delta State, presided over by Hon. Justice F.A. Olubanjo, has convicted Chinonso Omengor (26, female) for the exportation of persons for prostitution and organising foreign travels that promote prostitution, contrary to Sections 14(b) and 18 of the Trafficking in Persons (Prohibition) Enforcement and Administration Act, 2015,” the statement read.
“The sentence was seven years imprisonment on each count, to run concurrently, and a cumulative fine of N10m, plus N1M compensation to the victim."
