Activist Aisha Yesufu has sounded the alarm over what she calls a dangerous escalation of violent attacks nationwide, warning that Nigeria is effectively at war.
She made this known in a post on X on Friday.
She criticised the government’s response, saying there is no clear or unified strategy to protect citizens.
“Nigeria is at war. This is no longer the time for propaganda. Nigeria is under siege. Are our children being abducted to be used as human shields? There are coordinated attacks across Nigeria. Where is the coordinated response?
Yesufu also directed questions at the National Assembly, accusing lawmakers of failing in their role as representatives of the people.
“Where is the National Assembly? They are supposed to be the Peoples voices! They are supposed to be the Activists in government! What are they doing about the current spate of attacks in the country?.
“Have they called for inquiry? Are they holding the executive accountable? Are they questioning how citizens are being protected?,” she asked.
