A chieftain of the New Nigerian Peoples Party, Buba Galadima, has revealed that, unbeknownst to many, the late former President Muhammadu Buhari was instrumental in Abba Yusuf’s emergence as governor of Kano State.
He noted that God worked through Buhari to make sure that the victory obtained by the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, was not stolen by the All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2023 as they allegedly did in 2019.
Speaking on Arise News, Galadima, who is the Secretary, Board of Trustees of the NNPP, said that Buhari could no longer support Ganduje’s move to take NNPP and Abba Yusuf’s Victory because he, Ganduje abused Buhari along the line.
“Unknown to many Nigerians, it was General Buhari who took our victory in 2019 and gave it to Ganduje. General Buhari was the architect of making Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano State.
“The world needs to know because Abba Yusuf left the house of God and went to the house of Tinubu. He left God for a human being,” the former ally to late former President Buhari said.
“It was Ganduje, using his own words, who abused Buhari, even though he [Buhari] took our victory and gave him in 2019, he called him Abuna abu. Abuna abu was a song sung by the famous Hausa musician Al Hadi Mohammed of Kasina. Abuna abu is an outstanding drunkard who will go to the bar, drink, walk on the streets naked, or sleep on the streets or sleep under the tree.
“That was Abuna Abu Ganduje called General Muhammadu Buhari, without mentioning his name. And Buhari felt bitter and when we won the election and they wanted to take it, Magaji Bichi the former DSS director, if he can fear God, he can narrate the story. And when he writes his memoir, he needs to put that.
“Buhari put down his feet and said, ‘that boy won election in 2019 we took it away. Now he won again, give him his victory.’ You see how God works? For somebody like Buba Galadima to for once talk good of Buhari.
“They took us to court, the Tribunal came to give judgment in our favour. I want to tell the world today, they abducted them, brought them to Abuja and gave them a written judgment. They said we lost. We went to the Court of Appeal. The Court of Appeal was intimidated and we lost. We went to the Supreme Court. Three judges out of the panel of five said they will never cause a blood bath in Kano.
“They said Abba Yusuf won his election in 2019 and it was taken away from him by force, and the judiciary didn’t help him. This time, they could not be alibi to injustice, so Abba Yusuf was made the governor of Kano through the processes of court and through the assistance of Buhari.
“This means that God was at work. Now they’re telling people that even if we win the election in 2027, the APC will take it. So why don’t we join them? Meaning that he [Yusuf] has forsaken God and the ability of God to do justice, and he thought APC and President Tinubu will announce him, even if he wins an election, it is a temporary victory. God will visit him.”
