Iran war: I’m not worried about war crimes – Trump
US President Donald Trump has said he is “not at all” worried about the possibility of committing war crimes.
His remark followed a warning that the U.S. could destroy Iran’s bridges and power plants if Tehran does not meet his Tuesday 8 p.m. ET deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian Red Crescent posted on X that targeting defenseless civilians cannot be justified and amounts to war crimes.
Trump reiterated on Truth Social that he is “not at all” concerned about the legal implications of his actions.
A UN spokesperson has told the Associated Press that international law prohibits attacks on such infrastructure.
On Tuesday morning, Israel and the U.S. struck 17 civilian sites, according to the Iranian Red Crescent. Humanitarian groups have condemned the attacks, calling them war crimes.
