UNIZIK Appoints University Librarian, Others

The Governing Council of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, has approved the appointment of key officers following vacancies in the office of the University Librarian and six Directorates.
The appointments were ratified during the Council’s 21st Emergency Meeting held on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the Council Chambers of the University, after a rigorous and merit-based selection process.
1. Prof. Eze J. U – University Librarian
2. Dr Jane Ezeonu – Director of Medical Services
3. Engr. Ibe Obinna – Director of Works Services
4. Akuma P. I – Director of Procurement
5. Engr. Ezeokafor Lawrence – Director of Physical Planning
6. Mr Obi Collins – Chief Safety Officer
7. Attah Aloysius Emeka – Director, Information and Public Relations.
All appointments take effect from April 17, 2026, and are for a single tenure of five (5) years.
Presenting the letters of appointment, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Barr. Monsur Olugbenga Kukoyi, urged the appointees to justify the confidence placed in them through diligence, integrity, and dedicated service. He further encouraged them to uphold the values of the University and serve as worthy ambassadors of the institution.
The appointment letters were signed by the Registrar, Dr Chinenye Gloria Okeke.
These strategic appointments are expected to strengthen the administrative framework of the University and drive effective service delivery in line with its mandate.
