Former Chelsea F.C. and Leicester City F.C. boss Enzo Maresca has officially stepped into one of football’s biggest jobs after sealing a long-term deal with Manchester City F.C. following the emotional departure of Pep Guardiola.
Former Chelsea and Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has been appointed as the new head coach of Manchester City, signing a three-year contract with the club.
Maresca takes over from Pep Guardiola, whose final game in charge ended in a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa in the Premier League on Sunday.
Renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on social media, stating that Maresca has signed a deal running until June 2029 and will play an active role in shaping the club's transfer strategy going forward.
Maresca had been without a club since his departure from Chelsea's Stamford Bridge in January, and is reported to have turned down other managerial offers while holding out for the Manchester City position.
