According to him, people are reading too much into the meeting when there was nothing political about it. He said Fayose, Seyi Tinubu and Cubana ChiefPriest simply crossed paths at a neutral location, and that alone shouldn’t be enough to question Fayose’s political loyalty.
VeryDarkMan also pointed out that Fayose never asked anyone to support President Tinubu or the APC during or after the meeting. For him, meeting someone from a different political camp doesn’t automatically mean you’ve abandoned your own choice.
In a video he posted, he said:
“I don’t like the way you people are ridiculing Uncle Isaac Fayose. I’m standing up to defend him because I don’t think what’s being done to him is fair. Here’s why: Isaac Fayose, Seyi Tinubu, and Cubana ChiefPriest didn’t meet at a campaign ground or behind closed doors. They met at a neutral venue, and at no point did he ask anyone to vote for Tinubu or the APC.”
