COOUTH Appoints Renowned Plastic Surgeon Dr. Ibeneme as New Acting C-MAC
The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital (COOUTH), Amaku, Dr Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, has appointed Dr Chima Christian Ibeneme as the Acting Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee (Ag. C-MAC) of the hospital.
According to a statement issued by the COOUTH PRO Team, the appointment letter was formally presented to Dr Ibeneme by the CMD on Thursday at her office.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr Umeakuewulu said the appointment followed due consideration by the hospital’s Management, noting that the ongoing transformation of the institution required capable and committed leadership to advance its clinical and patient-centred agenda.
The CMD charged the new Ag. C-MAC to be proactive, dedicated and diligent in the discharge of his responsibilities, particularly in coordinating the hospital’s clinical services, promoting effective collaboration among clinical departments and strengthening the quality of patient care.
Dr Umeakuewulu also commended the immediate past C-MAC for his contributions and service to the hospital. She urged Dr Ibeneme to build on the achievements recorded under the previous leadership while supporting Management’s vision of improving clinical services and enhancing patients’ experiences across the hospital.
Dr Ibeneme, a Consultant Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, is expected to bring his wealth of clinical experience and professional expertise to the new responsibility.
Responding, Dr Ibeneme described the appointment as a privilege and a great honour to serve the institution.
He pledged to discharge his responsibilities diligently and to the best of his ability, while contributing meaningfully to the hospital’s continued growth and development.
The Management congratulated Dr Ibeneme on his appointment and wished him a successful and impactful tenure in office.
