Nigeria’s First Lady to inaugurate ICT Centre in Fed Poly Oko

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, will commission the ICT Centre at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, on Thursday.
Commissioner for Information and Value Reformation, Dr Law Mefor, said in a statement that the ICT Centre inauguration is among other activities Tinubu’s wife will undertake during the visit.
He said the modern facility, designed to close the digital skills gap, would provide opportunities for students from Anambra and across the Southeast to be trained in software development, data analysis, digital marketing, future of work and global work.
Mefor further disclosed that the First Lady would also launch the National Community Food Bank Programme – Southeast Zone, an initiative he described as a reflection of the Federal Government’s commitment to inclusive growth and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
“The launch of the National Community Food Bank Programme in the Southeast, to be held at Old Government House, Amawbia, is a direct intervention for widows, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable families.
“The program will provide food items, nutrition education, and agricultural support.
The Commissioner highlighted other activities of the visit to include the flag-off of the Statewide Empowerment Programme of Mrs Nonye Soludo, scheduled to hold at the Ekwueme Square, Awka.
“5,000 beneficiaries across Anambra’s 21 Local Government Areas will receive business grants, vocational tools, and equipment for agriculture and agro-processing, beauty care, and small-scale enterprise.
“The empowerment initiative is driven by Her Excellency, Mrs. Nonye Soludo, First Lady of Anambra State, and will be flagged off by the First Lady of Nigeria.
“Anambra State, the “Light of the Nation,” welcomes this partnership with the Federal Government. The visit affirms that no state or zone is left behind in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Ndi Anambra warmly welcome you, Mother of the Nation,” he added.
