RESCUED CHILD ABUSE VICTIM IN OBOSI NOW RECEIVING MEDICAL TREATMENT
The seven-year-old girl rescued from a suspected child abuse case in Obosi is now receiving medical treatment and psychosocial support, the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare has said.
The child, who remains in protective custody, is under close medical observation as health personnel attend to her injuries and monitor her recovery.
Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs. Chinyere Esther Onyekesi, expressed relief over the child’s condition, assuring that the Ministry would continue to provide the necessary medical and emotional support to help her recover and regain stability.
Commissioner Onyekesi also commended the medical team for its intervention and reaffirmed that the case remains under active investigation by the Nigeria Police Force, Awada Division.
She said the Ministry would continue to work with security agencies and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the protection of vulnerable children and bring perpetrators of child abuse to justice.
The Commissioner urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspected cases of child abuse, neglect, exploitation or violence to the appropriate authorities.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment, under the administration of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, to protecting the rights, safety and wellbeing of children across Anambra State.
