2027: South East APC Declares APC Top to Bottom, Rejects Selective Support for Tinubu

The South East Zone of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared that its position for the 2027 general elections is APC top to bottom, rejecting any form of selective support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The declaration was made in a statement issued by the National Vice Chairman (South-East) of the APC and South East Zonal Coordinator of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, MBBS, PhD.
According to Dr. Arodiogbu, the South East APC stands solidly, unwaveringly and uncompromisingly for APC from top to bottom in the 2027 elections.
“From the Presidency to the Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship, State Houses of Assembly, and Local Government Councils, our position is one, our voice is united, and our resolve is total: Every elective position must be contested and won under the banner of the All Progressives Congress,” the statement read.
Dr. Arodiogbu said the South East APC welcomes the adoption of President Tinubu by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Accord Party through their respective governors and leaders.
He described the development as a clear testament to the growing national consensus around the leadership, reforms and stabilising agenda of President Tinubu, showing that progressive-minded leaders across party lines have recognised the courage, vision and results of the current administration.
However, he stressed that the South East APC’s commitment goes beyond the presidential ticket alone.
“While we appreciate and welcome this cross-party endorsement of Mr. President, we make it categorically clear that the South East APC shall vote APC from top to bottom. We shall not stop at the presidency. We shall support, campaign for, and deliver every APC candidate at every level of the ballot,” he said.
Dr. Arodiogbu declared total support for the leader of the party in the South East, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum.
He said Governor Uzodimma’s position on the 2027 voting pattern fully reflects the collective commitment of all APC Governors across the country and demonstrates exemplary leadership.
“His clear and consistent position prioritises the long-term interest of the party, the South East and Nigeria as a whole,” he noted.
He blasted those attacking Governor Uzodimma, describing them as myopic, ignorant and completely lacking in basic understanding of leadership.
“Leadership is not about populism or appeasing every noise-maker; it is about clarity of vision, courage of conviction, and the willingness to take positions that secure lasting political relevance and development for one’s people. Governor Uzodimma has shown these qualities. The South East APC stands solidly behind him,” Arodiogbu stated.
He also extolled the commitment and loyalty of APC National Working Committee members from the South East and the entire South East Zonal Executive Committee for their discipline and unity of purpose.
Dr. Arodiogbu rejected any notion of selective support, conditional loyalty or half-hearted commitment.
“There shall be no ‘one leg in, one leg out.’ There shall be no sitting on the fence. There shall be no quiet endorsement of opposition candidates at any level while claiming to support President Tinubu. The era of political double-dealing and strategic ambiguity is over in the South East APC,” he warned.
He praised President Tinubu’s administration for demonstrating uncommon courage and resilience in confronting deep structural challenges, noting that long-postponed reforms have been boldly implemented, infrastructure is expanding, security architecture is being strengthened and economic policies for long-term stability are taking root.
“The South East, like every other zone, has begun to feel the positive impact of purposeful federal governance, and we are determined to build upon this foundation rather than reverse it,” he said.
Dr. Arodiogbu called on every APC member, leader, stakeholder, youth, woman and elder in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo States to fully embrace the top-to-bottom strategy, which he said means total support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima, full backing for all APC National Assembly and State Assembly candidates, unalloyed support for APC governorship candidates in the five states, and complete commitment to APC candidates at the local government level.
He warned that any individual or group promoting parallel structures or advancing opposition parties under the guise of regional sentiment is working against the collective interest of the South East and will be resisted and exposed.
He saluted the three APC Governors in the South East – Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State and Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State – as well as National Assembly members, State Assembly members and party executives for their steadfastness.
“The 2027 elections present the South East with a clear choice: to consolidate the gains of progressive governance or return to the politics of perpetual opposition and marginalisation. We have chosen the path of consolidation. We have chosen the path of relevance. We have chosen the path of power,” he said.
“APC Top to Bottom is not a slogan. It is our doctrine. It is our strategy. It is our non-negotiable position.”
