The incident, which occurred around 5pm on Sunday, involved storage tanks containing diesel at the location.

According to residents of the area, the facility was allegedly set on fire by a yet-to-be-identified person.

They disclosed that some casualties were recorded during the incident, while some of the storage tanks were burnt by the fire.

Confirming the incident, State Fire Chief Engr Chiketa Chukwudi said the actual cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, adding that one of those affected by the inferno had been rushed to hospital for medical attention.
