Godwin Nnadiekwe, the Nollywood actor, has ignited fresh discussions about safety on film sets following a troubling incident that resulted in his hospitalization due to internal bleeding.

In a now-viral post shared online, Godwin recounted being kicked in the chest by a colleague, Zubby Michael, during a filming session—an act he claimed was not in the script and not directed by the filmmaker.

He explained that the sudden blow caused him serious pain, for which he sought medical attention on his own, without any support or first aid assistance from the set.

“During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn't part of the script or directed by the director. It's caused me serious pains. Had to get medication for my chest to feel better today. I did all these by myself. No assistance!”

Shortly after his post, a public statement from his management confirmed the situation had worsened, revealing that Godwin had been rushed to the hospital and is currently undergoing treatment for internal bleeding.

“We regret to inform you that Actor 1/3 Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening. He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding following an incident involving a kick on the chest during filming with his colleague Zubby Michael.”

Though the actor avoided calling anyone out directly, the captioned video of the scene—clearly showing the intense moment—has led many online users to link the incident to popular actor Zubby Michael, who appears in the clip.

In his post, Godwin made an emotional call to the film industry, pleading with fellow actors and producers to prioritize safety—especially in a country where many film sets operate without insurance, proper medical backup, or structured on-set safety protocols.

“When we're working without insurance policies or readily available first aid, unexpected physical actions like this, even if accidental, can have real consequences... What if something more serious had happened?”

As of now, Zubby Michael has not made any public statement addressing the incident.
