We have come today to look into Barr Uchenna Daniel Obiora’s leadership pattern, what he has been able to achieve, and, most importantly, how he achieved those things.
The heights reached by great men are not attained in a sudden flight; while their companions slept and were merry, they toiled unceasingly in the night. This statement is to remind you, my reader, that there is no shortcut to success. Barr Uchenna Daniel Obiora—a successful lawyer, community leader, lawmaker, and champion of justice—does not believe in shortcuts or improper means of acquiring wealth, power, and influence. Whatever you see him own today, every title he bears, and every qualification and record he has acquired have been earned through intentional and consistent hard work and service to humanity.
Achievements as legislator in Orumba North
The vibrancy and intentional representation of Barr Obiora earned him the position of Deputy Leader of the Orumba North Legislative Council during his time as a lawmaker (2014–2016). He used that avenue to learn and to redefine what local representation ought to be.
Achievements as President-General of Ndiokpaleze Improvement Union (NIU)
Chief Hon. Barr Uchenna Daniel Obiora, as President-General of his community Ndiokpaleze, led many developmental projects and peace dialogues, which include:
- Out-of-court settlement of a long-standing legal dispute between Ifite Village (Ogboji) and Ndiokpaleze, which led to Ndiokpaleze regaining her Nkwo market.
- Construction and establishment of a government secondary school in Ndiokpaleze.
- Adoption and passage of the long-awaited constitution of Ndiokpaleze Improvement Union.
- Renovation and revamping of Ndiokpaleze Primary Health Centre.
- Revamping of the Ndiokpaleze youth wing.
- Provision of water at Ndiokpaleze Primary Health Centre.
- Alternative dispute resolution of civil disputes involving indigents of Ndiokpaleze.
- Procurement of a Sienna bus for Agunechemba Ndiokpaleze.
Note: His achievements and attainments in his career and leadership are traceable to his personal grit, loyalty to his convictions, and refusal to compromise on issues that do not advance the cause of humanity.
Financial transparency
Throughout his time as a leader in his community and in Orumba North, no embezzlement or mismanagement of public funds has been traced to his name, which confirms that his integrity is impeccable and that his intentions toward leadership are genuine and development-driven.
As a popular Igbo adage says, “A na-esi n’ulo mara mma pụta ezi” (charity and good behaviour begin at home). Ikeoha Okwaeze—our young, vibrant, humble, intelligent, and highly principled House of Assembly aspirant under APGA—started his journey of quality representation from home and has laid the bedrock of representation and administrative leadership in Ndiokpaleze.
Through the establishment of a written constitution, the establishment of a secondary school, the renovation and revamping of their health centre, the procurement of security equipment and a Sienna bus for Agunechemba Ndiokpaleze, alternative dispute resolution of civil disputes involving indigents, and bringing a lasting solution to the long-standing legal dispute between Ifite (Ogboji) and Ndiokpaleze—restoring ownership of the Nkwo market to Ndiokpaleze—Ikeoha Okwaeze has shown that he is born to rule and has the technical know-how to manage both human and material resources for the development of society.
In conclusion, I plead with every Onye APGA Orumba North to begin now to make up their minds to give Chief Hon. Barr Uchenna Daniel Obiora the required support to get the APGA ticket. We do not need to do much to fix our constituency; the basic thing to be done is to get our leadership right, and everything else will fall into place. Based on the obvious lacuna created by inadequate representation, a square hole exists in Orumba North constituency which requires a square peg to match it—and Ikeoha Okwaeze is that square peg. All he is saying is: “Here I am; please send me.”
Ka anyi tupukenere nkita okpukpukpu, norozie ala kiribe ogu ya na umu ndi mmuo. Let us give him this opportunity and watch what he will do with it.
