President Bola Tinubu has approved key leadership appointments across several federal education institutions, including the National Examinations Council (NECO), the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), the National Library of Nigeria, and the Federal Polytechnic N’yak-Shendam.

Several new appointments in several important Federal Ministry of Education institutes have been approved by President Bola Tinubu. The appointments have an impact on the Federal Ministry of Education's National Examinations Council, National Board for Technical Education, Federal Polytechnic N'yak-Shendam in Plateau State, and National Library of Nigeria, according to a statement made by Bayo Onanuga, the President's Special Advisor on Information and Strategy.

It further states that while keeping Professor Ibrahim Dantani Wushishi as the present registrar, President Tinubu appointed Professor Modupe Adeola Adelabu as Chairman of the NECO Governing Board.

Additionally, he extended Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi's term as Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the National Library of Nigeria and nominated Dr. Bongfa Binfa as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N'yak-Shendam, Plateau State.

The President reappointed Professor Idris M. Bugaje, the current Executive Secretary, for a second and final five-year term, and named Professor Babatunde Salako as Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education.

Formerly the Chairman of the National Board for Technical Education, Professor Adelabu is a retired professor of educational administration and a former deputy governor of Ekiti State.

From 2016 until 2024, Professor Salako, a distinguished scholar and investigator, was the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research.

Dr. Bongfa Binfa, an engineer, takes over for Dr. Mukaila Zakari Ya'u, the Federal Polytechnic N'yak-Shendam's first Rector, whose term ended in March 2026. He is appointed for a single five-year term.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Binfa was the Deputy Rector (Academic) at the Federal Polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny. He has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Professor Chinwe Veronica Anunobi, who was initially appointed in September 2021, will lead the National Library of Nigeria for a last five-year term.

The National Repository of Nigeria and the National Virtual Library are only two of the significant improvements she has spearheaded throughout her tenure to make the National Library a cutting-edge, technologically advanced organization.

According to the President, extending her term will guarantee that ongoing changes continue, the National Library Headquarters in Abuja is completed, and the organization's 2025–2030 Strategic Plan is successfully implemented.
