Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has signed an executive order restricting motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. across the state as part of fresh measures to tackle insecurity following recent school abductions.

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has signed an executive order restricting the operation of motorcycles between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., as part of measures aimed at addressing the security situation in the state following the abduction of teachers and schoolchildren.

Announcing the directive, the governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to securing the release of the abducted victims, describing every day they remain in captivity as a painful one for their families and for the entire state.

He vowed that the government would not relent in its efforts until the kidnapped teachers and children are safely returned home.

The restriction on nighttime motorcycle operations is widely seen as a move to limit the movement of criminal elements, particularly bandits and kidnappers, who have been known to use motorcycles during raids and while transporting abducted victims through rural areas.Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has signed an executive order restricting motorcycle operations between 10:30 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. across the state as part of fresh measures to tackle insecurity following recent school abductions.
