Paul Pogba leaves Monaco
Former France midfielder Paul Pogba has left Monaco after his contract was terminated following just one season.
Pogba, a 2018 World Cup winner, had a deal with the Ligue 1 side until June 2027,
but Monaco said it had ended early because objectives, set by both parties, had only been “partially achieved”.
The 33-year-old played six matches for Monaco last season, five of which came as a substitute.
“Representing this club and the principality was an incredible experience,” said Pogba.
“AS Monaco is an incredible club and although I did not play as many games as I had hoped, I will always be grateful for the opportunity to wear their colours.”
Pogba joined Monaco last summer after he was permitted to return to professional football following a doping suspension he received while at Juventus.
