A Federal High Court in Abuja has fixed October 2 for Omoyele Sowore to continue defending himself in a case brought by the DSS over his social media posts about President Bola Tinubu.
The Federal High Court has set October 2 for Omoyele Sowore, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate, to continue his defense in a cyberbullying case filed by the Department of State Services (DSS).
The prosecution stems from August 2025 social media posts where Sowore referred to President Bola Tinubu as a "criminal" and accused him of lying about national corruption.
At Monday's proceedings, defense counsel Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika (SAN) requested an adjournment because a subpoenaed DSS official failed to appear.
Although the defense cited reports suggesting the prosecution might pause the trial until after the general elections, prosecuting counsel Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN) dismissed the media claims and argued it was the defense's job to bring its own witnesses.
Justice Mohammed Umar granted the adjournment to give the defense one more chance to present the witness.
